Telecom New Zealand is about
helping New Zealanders keep in touch with each other and in touch with the
future. As principal sponsor of Telecom Prospect 2004: New Art
New Zealand, it
is our pleasure to present this vibrant and exciting new exhibition to the
people of New Zealand.
Following on from the success of
City Gallery Wellington's inaugural contemporary arts survey exhibition
in 2001, Telecom Prospect 2004 brings the
freshest, most innovative artwork
currently being produced in New Zealand to a wide public audience.
Telecom New Zealand is very excited about being involved in this project and
have contributed to the exhibition in two key areas. Firstly, our Advanced
Solutions team have worked in collaboration with leading artist Ronnie van Hout
to help him realise an ambitious and innovative new artwork for the Telecom
Prospect 2004 exhibition. Gallery visitors are able to interact with van Hout's
work On The Run via email from this site and text messaging from Telecom
mobiles. Secondly, the Telecom Prospect 2004 exhibition is complemented by this
online catalogue, a further commitment from Telecom to connect New Zealanders
to this exhibition of contemporary art and ideas, regardless of their location.
